We will have our seventh annual wine tasting fundraiser for the Far West Masters Athlete Development Fund on Saturday Feb. 25, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the house of Masters racer Ed Littlejohn, the evening of our Northstar GS race. The evening will feature dessert, winetasting and an opportunity to buy the wines we sample, and scholarship fund raffle with prizes including skis. GS awards will be presented at 8:30PM, following desert. The Masters fund has donated $25,000 yearly to Far West Junior Athletes to promote Alpine Ski Racing.
The format will be an informal gathering after dinner to learn a little about wines and tasting. Through the generosity of Ed, who has donated both his house and a portion of his fabulous collection of wines, it will be an opportunity to raise money for our scholarship fund and enjoy the company of fellow Masters Racers and friends of the ski racing community. We will have bread, cheese and sweets to go along with the libations.
If you wish, consider making a $20 donation at the door. We will have bottles of wine available for purchase through silent auction during the evening. We will also sell raffle tickets and raffle off prizes at the end of the evening including a pair of skis as the grand prize.All Friends and supporters of ski racing in the Far West are invited. Additionally we will have junior scholarship winners; parents and coaches from the Far West Junior program attend as well. Tasting begins at 7:00 pm at the house of Ed Littlejohn located at 13644 Ski View Loop in Tahoe Donner (in Truckee). To get there, pick up Northwoods road across from the High School in Truckee and go into Tahoe Donner. Follow Northwoods to about ½ mile past the Golf Course go left on Sierra Glenn then left on Ski View Loop. The house is on the left-hand side of the street.
